Special Meeting Agenda
- Call to Order
Commissioner Gott called the Special Meeting of the Marion Park District to order at 11:26 a.m. at the Marion Elks, 204 S. Market St., Marion, IL 62959 with the following Commissioners present:
Commissioner Gardiner
Commissioner Sheffler
Commissioner Gott
Commissioner McReynolds and Commissioner Welch were absent. Three constitutes a quorum so we can continue with the meeting.
- Open Forum
Austin Robertson with Little Tractor Equipment Co. was present for the meeting for the bid award. Commissioner Gott asked if there was anything that Austin would like to address, with Austin replying no.
- Approval of March 31, 2021 Special Meeting Agenda
Commissioner Sheffler made a motion at 11:27 a.m.; seconded by Commissioner Gardiner to approve the March 31, 2021 Special Meeting Agenda. Roll called. Motion carried with unanimous vote with those present.
- Old Business
- Discuss / Approve awarding the bid for a mini excavator. Item tabled on March 23, 2021 meeting.
Commissioner Gott states this item was tabled from the March 23, 2021 Regular Meeting. Commissioner Gott asked if he is required to read the bids again with Director Reed stating that if a Commissioner has a question then the two lowest bids could be read again. Commissioner Gott asked if any Commissioner had a question regarding the bids or the email sent out regarding correspondence from the attorney. Commissioner Gardiner states he had no questions. Commissioner Gott states that all bids were open with two lowest bids from Little Tractor Equipment Co. and Bobcat of Marion. There was a question regarding specifications from one of the unit bids. The specifications had a 70” width maximum and the machine from Bobcat was over the maximum width guideline. Bobcat of Marion was the lowest bidder. The $52,000.00 bid from Little Tractor Equipment Co. for the Yanmar SV40CRC cab with hydraulic thumb and all other specifications being met seems to be the lowest bid of the bidders.
Commissioner Gott is going to entertain a vote for the Little Tractor Equipment Co. bid of $52,000.00. Commissioner Gott asked if there was any further discussion with the Commissioners silent. Commissioner Gott then states again he is requesting a vote for the Little Tractor Equipment Co bid of $52,000.00.
Commissioner Gott made a motion at 11:31 a.m.; seconded by Commissioner Sheffler to approve the bid of $52,000.00 from Little Tractor Equipment Co. for the Yanmar SV40CRC cab with hydraulic thumb. Roll called. Commissioner Gardiner – no, Commissioner Gott – yea, Commissioner Sheffler – yea. Motion does not carry with a 2 – 1 vote with those present.

Commissioner Gardiner made a motion at 11:32 a.m.; seconded by Commissioner Sheffler to approve the adjourn the Special meeting on March 31, 2021 agenda. Roll called. Motion carried with unanimous vote with those present.
