Who We Are

The district is staffed by a dedicated team of seven full-time employees, including the Director of Parks and Recreation, who oversee daily operations, maintenance, programming, and events. During peak season, an additional 40 seasonal employees join the team to support sports leagues, community events, and facility operations.

From spring through late fall, the Marion Park District maintains facilities for local sports associations and clubs, hosts community recreation programs, and proudly sponsors the annual Marion Park District Triathlon. We also partner with local organizations, schools, and businesses to bring even more opportunities for recreation and connection to the community.

Our Mission

The Marion Park District is committed to enhancing the quality of life for all residents by providing diverse, accessible, and sustainable recreation spaces.
We believe every park should be a place where people of all ages and abilities can gather, grow, and belong.
