Park Service Tech I
Full-Time Position | Based in Marion, Illinois
The Marion Park District is seeking a full-time Park Service Tech I to join our dedicated maintenance and park services team.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work and takes satisfaction in keeping public spaces clean, safe, and beautiful for the community.
Key Responsibilities
Perform park improvements and maintenance, including:
Mowing, painting, and janitorial services
Playground and facility repairs
Equipment maintenance and basic carpentry or plumbing
Trash removal and general upkeep
Operate tools and machinery safely and efficiently
Support seasonal events, athletics, and recreation programs
Collaborate with staff and provide excellent public service
Requirements
Valid driver’s license
Must obtain an Illinois Pesticide Operator License within 6 months of hire
High school diploma or equivalent
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
Team-oriented, dependable, and customer-focused
