Current Opening — Park Service Tech I

Full-Time Position | Based in Marion, Illinois

The Marion Park District is seeking a full-time Park Service Tech I to join our dedicated maintenance and park services team.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work and takes satisfaction in keeping public spaces clean, safe, and beautiful for the community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform park improvements and maintenance, including:

    • Mowing, painting, and janitorial services

    • Playground and facility repairs

    • Equipment maintenance and basic carpentry or plumbing

    • Trash removal and general upkeep

  • Operate tools and machinery safely and efficiently

  • Support seasonal events, athletics, and recreation programs

  • Collaborate with staff and provide excellent public service

Requirements
  • Valid driver’s license

  • Must obtain an Illinois Pesticide Operator License within 6 months of hire

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills

  • Team-oriented, dependable, and customer-focused
