Once known as Russell Street Park, this neighborhood recreation area was officially renamed Harrison–Bruce Park on April 19, 2018, during a ribbon-cutting ceremony hosted with the Marion Chamber of Commerce.
The renaming recognized the generous grant received from the Harrison–Bruce Foundation, which made possible the complete renovation of the park’s tennis courts. Today, the park stands as a symbol of community collaboration and investment in Marion’s recreational spaces.
The Harrison–Bruce Foundation has a long-standing history of supporting projects that strengthen Southern Illinois communities. Through this partnership, Harrison–Bruce Park continues to serve residents as a well-maintained, inviting place for outdoor recreation and neighborhood connection.
